This is the strategy of the Italian government (Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy) which allocates over 500 million euros to finance research and development projects by industries



The Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy has released 500 million euros, from the National Complementary Fund to the PNRR (National recovery and resilience plan), to finance research and development projects in the context of the second window dedicated to Innovation Agreements, the opening of which is scheduled for January 31, 2023. Enterprises of any size, even jointly, that carry out industrial, agro-industrial, artisan or industrial services activities as well as research activities will be able to benefit from the concessions. will be able to participate in the context of joint projects. Among the criteria for approving the applications envisaged for this second window, some innovations have been introduced, namely the introduction of the prohibition for a proposing entity to present multiple applications as single proposer or as lead partner of a partnership and admission to the preliminary investigation of non-applications in chronological order but on the basis of the position assumed within a specific merit ranking, in the event that the available financial resources do not allow the acceptance of all the applications presented on the same day. The merit ranking will take into account the economic-financial aspects of the proponents and the impact of the project.
