Mantovanibenne focuses in 2023 on the new Eagleshears 3 shears. Compared to the previous Series 2, it offers an increase in performance and operational efficiency thanks to improvements in the structure and technical equipment.

Mantovanibenne for 2023 focuses on Eagleshear 3, the new range of shears presented at bauma 2022, which represent a natural evolution of the 2 Series, still in the price list. The new range improves performance and resistance to stress and wear. The first change is a new design of the shear body, which is less elongated than the previous generation for greater lightness and a more backwards center of gravity. The operational geometries have been substantially modified to the advantage of greater operational stability. In addition to increasing operational stability and reducing weight, the news design has allowed a 9% higher cutting mouth opening, with an increase in cutting force of up to 30% depending on the model. On the Eagleshears 3 a single set back cutting guide allows the moving section to utilize 100% of the cutting capacity, even in the presence of difficult angles. The stems are cut with a high pressure water jet from 160 mm thick Hardox steel sheet. They are then completely milled avoiding possible weakening due to high temperatures.

Reverse cutting cylinder

Another new feature of the Eagleshears 3 is the inverted position of the cutting cylinder to protect the stem inside. The bore has been enlarged to develop higher power with faster opening and closing cycles. The piston rod is now completely forged from solid in order to guarantee superior resistance compared to a conventional cylinder. The seals have been revised and, with proper maintenance, have a lifespan of up to 3,000 hours.

The new protected tip

An increase in performance contemplated the adoption of a completely redesigned tip. The Eagleshears Series 3 features a new type of interchangeable piercing element that offers superior protection and greater reliability. In fact, maintenance is easier, reducing costs and downtime. The blade seats are now milled from solid and have a superior resistance to tearing and micro-movements during the cutting phase.

Wear resistance

Another fundamental aspect for those who work in the demolition and recycling fields is wear from rubbing with abrasive materials, accidental impacts, blows with high energy. Protection elements have therefore been inserted on the Eagleshears Series 3 for the parts most subject to wear. These are real armor plates made with interchangeable plates in Hardox 500 steel and installed on the profiles of the stems. Thus they avoid frequent maintenance operations which could reduce the availability of the shear on site. The armor in fact allows the shear to resist any impact without altering its structure. This trick gives a very high level of resistance and, once worn out, the armored parts can be replaced in a short time.

Telematics and simplified maintenance

And on state-of-the-art equipment, the digitized management aspect cannot be overlooked. An on-board infotainment centered on a smart control unit that is able to control all the equipment remotely has been developed on the Eagleshears Series 3. All this happens thanks to nine different elements concerted and interacting with each other, including a GPS, a counter and a shock detector. Together they are able to read and understand the actual operation of the machine and help the user in efficient management of the shear as well as in its maintenance.
